To be honest, I never heard about this film until recently and have never watched it! It was released in 1981 and flopped at the box office. The film, starring Rajesh Khanna, Hema malini and Vinod Khanna among others, had music composed by RD Burman. For me, it is definitely one of his best albums. In fact, I have always felt that RD Burman, or "Pancham da" as many affectionately call him, never received his due while he was alive. He has given Hindi film music some of the most memorable songs but got little recognition (and it hurts to see every average Joe music director making such big bucks these days).
Anyway, moving away from my bitter feelings, I have two gods when it comes to male playback singing - Kishore Kumar and S.P.Balasubramaniam. Both have the gift of voice, of course, but what makes them even more special is how they take a song and mould it into their own, adding every small bit of emotion, expression and melody. Though Kishore Kumar is not a classically trained singer, he uses his own magic to make every song of his sound unique and simple!
In this movie, the song 'Humen Tumse Pyaar Kitna' stands out as one of RDB's best romantic compositions ever. While Kishore Kumar got nominated for a Filmfare that year for this song, Parveen Sultana (who rendered the female version) walked away with an award also for this song. Here is my attempt at this wonderful romantic song!

Kishore Kumar had entertained the viewers with his multi-talented singing style for more than 30 years. Within that span he was specially indebted to RD Burman who had given him immortal tunes.
Yes, I meant it more from the film industry perspective. In fact, RDB's last years were pretty unpleasant because of a few flops - movies promised to him were given to other music directors. He had so many unreleased tunes during this time (like 1942 love story, released after his death)
